18 days we travelled through Costa Rica with the organisation „Erlebe Costa Rica». We didn’t arrive directly at San José but had to change planes in Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic). We had a strong shower at the Poas Vulcano before we took a bus and a boat to the Caribbean coast towards Tortuguero. When we reached Guapiles we rented a car with which we first visited el volcano Arenal in La Fortuna and then went to Santa Elena where we wanted to see its national park and the foggy rain forest Monteverde.
There were not only flower birds but also Quetzals and Olingos which are rarely seen. As we drove further along Cordillera de Tilarán towards Vulcano Rincón de la Vieja and then to a beach at the pacific called Samara we recognised that temperature was rising. Our final destination was National Park Manuel Antonio. On our way back to San José we travelled through the high plateau and could admire the beautiful green landscape and many beautiful, colourful birds.
