In contrast to the Pyramids of Cheops and Chephren, it is easy to circle the Step Pyramid. On the one hand, the Step Pyramid is, with a base area of 121 to 109 metres, considerably smaller. And on the other hand, the air above Sakkara is drier and far cleaner than the air above Cairo. Glancing from the wall westward the Pyramid in a northward direction, you may see beyond the Pyramids of Abusir and Sawjet el-Arjan as far as to the plateau of Gisa, while you can see the Crease Pyramid and the Red Pyramid more southerly.
