After arriving in Hurghada late on the evening after an astonishing quick entry we experienced the first surprise of our holidays. While most vacationers of our plane have to wait for there luggage we are already driven to the nearby hotel Safir in a separate van. Because of that we are able to check in betimes to brace us at the buffet for the first hotel and
garden walkabout. This buffet is not very rich (and does not taste very well), nevertheless it is enough for the first evening..

Our room proves to be narrow and very loud because of the billiards room next door. That is why we are very happy to leave the Safir in the direction to the Nile. In contrast to the day trip people our tourist party travels with the second convoy to Luxor. That is why we can have breakfast very calmly before we have to go to the meeting point at 7.30h.

By the way there are also the first shopping opportunities. But should we buy souvenirs the first day? No, that is not necessary. Apart from that many clothes are just good-looking in Egypt. But we get to know that the Red Mountains give the name to the Red Sea because of the red reflections in the water.

We think that it is very pleasant that there are just a few vehicles in the second convoy that is why there is not such a big police convoy and that is why we have a clear view towards the Red Mountains.
