A travel to Cairo without pyramids? Impossible! But we were pretty surprised how fast we saw the first one. When our Touring guide stopped the coach on a bridge with lower traffic to take the first pyramid-photos, we weren’t just surprised how near the pyramids of Giza were to Cairo, but also how little you could see from them. Because of the fume and evaporation whole Giza is surrounded by smog.

Just like any Cairo visitor we have the pyramids of the pharaohship Cheops and Chephren as well as the Sphinx on our list. As we don’t have to care for anybody with Simsim and got two free days we wont to visit the (step-pyramid) in Sakkra. Furthermore our touring guide suggests to visit the more seclusive pyramids of the pharaoh Snofru in Dashipchur. We accept this happily. But of course the journey starts in Giza.
