During lunchtime the ship Solaris starts towards Aswan. At this time the workforces should open the curtains and clear the outlook to the Nile. There is excitement in the dining-hall and in the following time the rise with the sun and the great efforts are forgotten. Later the urban scenery changes into a palm-lined coast on both sides of the river. The feeling, admirable!

my lucky mouse!!!
the first impressions on the Nile

We belong to the first tourists on the sun deck. We are lucky. Or aren’t we? Because during our Nile-cruise only one third of the rooms are occupied, in contrast to the peak season. That means: instead of one divan bed per cabin (most of them are exposed to the sun), we can choose unhurriedly a nice little place in the umbrage. Indeed, we don’t know why all the divan beds stand inwards. But also this fact is changeable, so that it’s just the railing, which separates us from an open glance at the coast.

Egyptian village on the Nile shore all the other ships are quicker

It’s very nice, that there are enough towels on deck, and that nobody gawks when you change them during the day. For the crew, it’s much more interesting to watch the people cavorting in the swimming pool, which is at least two metres embedded in the inside of the boat (between stairway and the entrance of the bar). There are even some peepholes, which offer an interesting aquarium to the observer.
Actually, Annette’s first bath took only a few seconds, when a servant took leave downwards...
