The restaurant is on the second floor in a big round room with picture-window to the garden. When we were there the food was very the same and the buffet was small. You have to say that there were not many people but you got enough without waiting. However it is disappointing when you get fish twice in one week and it is badly dressed so that you could have abandoned it. After all Hurghada was once a fishing village. Anywhere I don’t eat meat and so I had a vegetarian week with European noodles and fitting dressing. At least this tasted fine and the soups were delicious, too. Fortunately we were on excursions otherwise we would have never had some Egyptian cooking.
I think it was a pity that there wasn’t any fresh fruit at the buffet. As dessert there were many sweet creams and cakes. But there was only fruit in the big fruit bowl in our room and this is really a great pity.
It was similar with the breakfast. But at least we got tasty, fresh pastry.
The staff was a bit getting on my nerves. Because we didn’t book an all- inclusive holiday we always had to sign the bill for our drinks. Unfortunately I never had a pen with me and the staff too. And I think it is not really nice that the staff had a got at us guests because we weren’t able to sign the bill.
On the last day we got a kind of an evaluation sheet where you should mark your opinions with a cross. It was funny that they had a pen at once. But because we did not fancy any discussions we only found fault with the room service because they forgot us one evening and we had to go to the reception. And soon there was a big discussion. Since the boss of the restaurant didn’t accept this because he was frightened that he’ll get problems with his boss. The consequence was that he was getting on our nerves until we marked everything nicely with a cross, just how he wanted it to be. That’s the way the Safir gets his good evaluations...
When you are coming late to a dinner because of a trip, you can not expect a clean table. Supplying one time in the evening is enough, there you can be glad that at least clean cutlery and a fresh glass is brought. Then nobody is interested in the slavered tablecloth.
