Short before 1pm we arrive in Luxor at our cruiser called SHIP Solaris. Meanwhile our baggage is shouldered by the staff, we only have to carry our hand luggage over the rather unsteady footbridge into to cruiser. Thereby we are eyed by the bargainers of the small bazaar street in order to offer their service, clothes and souvenirs for sale every time we pass them.

Arriving inside, our room key in our hands, we first find our way to the bar for a welcome drink. As soon as we got our welcome drink, Annette is complaining that I should get another room, since ours is in the rear of the boat, just next to the engines.
But didn't the tourist guide at the airport mention that we would get a very nice room? Well, asking carefully for the location of our room, we received as answer "Oh, you are in the very front." and of course, the engines are in the rear of the ship.

Our “club of grumble” carefully backpacked, a little bit later we are really surprised by a spacious room with an anteroom with a television in it, a small balcony as well as a generously furnished bath with tub/shower, WC and Bidet, hair dryer and two wash basins.
Everything is neat and clean, the air conditioning system doesn’t blow into the direction of the bed and on a small table there is standing a fruit basket with small bananas, grapes and apples.
Three days later a view on the ship plan shows us that we are accommodated in one of the suites. With other words: Good that we didn’t grump…

However the meal is a little bit disappointing. Indeed on the outward journey we were proudly told that in Egypt nearly all fruits are growing.
Unfortunately the Egyptians are not able to carry this variety onto the ship. Thus we only sporadically can find some bananas, grapes or melons on the buffet besides some desserts.
But several times I have to place back my empty plate without a dessert, because I just don’t like that sweet stuff and there is nothing else except.
