Windhoek III |

After we have taken a view of these historical interests, we must go back to hotel in order not to be late for the roundtrip as planned in the city to get a review from the church, the stronghold and the Ink Palace. Sydney shows us a stone (nearby the church: East German provinces unforgettable) and declares, that we built these statues in the park close to Ink palace in order to honour tow chieftains.

In succession we drive through suburb area of Windhoek. Until the Independence of the South Africa this area was still in quarter divided due to Apartheid policy, so that the residents live separately according to different economic criterion. After once staying in one of the pool area, no one from Nama, Ovambo or Herero succeeded to move to the rest quarters which belong to white people. But Sydney smiles when we pass by the White-Quarter: “In behind is my house- a nightmare for the white people”

There is no chance to get out during the driving except a stop beside a hotel, where Miss World was held one year before.
At noon we begin to set out again on foot so as to get a good view of pedestrian precinct, Kudu-Monument and Namibia Crafts Centre.
Well, we have had also a look into the bistro “Zum Wirt”. Since we encounter the fetidness from deep fried stuff, mixed with cigarette smoke and other bad smelling, we just run through and make use of the junction to beer garden, for the sake of returning to Independence Avenue. No, this kind of dive we really don’t need for our vacation.
