airport of windhoek

At the international airport of Windhoek or rather a part northern of the capitol of Namibia only a few machines start. That’s why on the departure and arrivals board many flies of the next day are scripted in. There isn’t any gangway, either, but we go the few meters from the airport to the terminal.

Entrance to the international airport
Fastfood restaurant in the arrival hall

Arriving inside, it must be filled in a form with the name, the passport number, the cause of the stay and additional details. Who doesn’t want to wait by a great queue ahead the entry counter has been formed, he can take a sheet and fill it in during staying. At the same time it recommends to take in some sheet for the departure.

Information and change in the arrival hall
Internet-Café and Car hire

After the very slow baggage handing out, only few meters are to the customs and behind them to the arrival hall. Who booked a package holiday, should be received by his guide. Directly opposite it there are possibilities to change money (prepare your passport), withdrawing money and – a part further left around the corner – to rent a car. There is a little internet café, too.

Souvenir-Shop

Who still has a rest of money, he can spend it for giraffes and other woodcarvings in the little souvenir shop, eating in the restaurants or –what we recommend- to invest it in Amarla.
Apart from the Namibian Dollars, Euros and Swiss francs will be accepted.
You don’t need to care of the bought giraffes. The Namib Air is used to big baggage.

Masks belong to the most popular souvenirs in Namibia
