Game Drive at the Epako Lodge

probably does not fit completely
Savanna scenery at the Epako Lodge

On our way we make a stop at a zoo. Here are supposed to be some cheetahs..
But they are hiding somewhere. It doesn’t help that the Ranger throws stones into their place to imitate the sound of a running springbok.
But never mind. We meet some mountain zebras. We can’t observe them for a long time but we see realize that they haven’t got that shadow in their white stripes.

Annette and Lars at the Gamedrive

After the experience with the nursing rhino (to get closer, we drive through the forest) we enjoy the landscape, observing the high grown acacia, the thorny bush and the termite hill and the distant hills.

On our way back we cross the dried up riverbed. We can’t imagine that once upon a time, the riverbed was covered with water. But we know that in Namibia, rainfall occurs in less than 3 weeks and dries up very quickly.
After we had seen the rhinos again, we went back to Epako Lodge. A tour that was certainly worth it; taking into account that we wouldn’t have had any other activities having done that day.
