The Turtle beach lodge can only be reached by boat. Which means: there aren't any cars. And if there wouldn't be the indefatigable humming engine-seythe, it would be absolutely silent. Well, if there isn't any storm pattering on the roof or some howler monkeys living up to their names. But those can't disturb us in any way, because we're here to hear, to see and, at best, to watch monkeys.
After the welcome-drink, we go into our room (no.105), a small and nice bungalow in the middle of the wide spaced garden. There are no window panes. Instead there are mosquito nets and curtains at every window and a ventilating fan on the ceiling. The beds are comfortable, there's enough space for our things and the bathroom is cleaned up. There's only one negative aspect: there is no regular dinnertime and because of that, we should walk along when the bell rings, explains Eloy. And this bell can't be heard in our room. Really bad. (-;
Though... there’s a buffet dinner, whereas the first rush is enough to crack gaps in the variety. As the kitchen isn't able to comply with cooking in the peak period, it's advisable to be in the restaurant betimes. But it's convenient, that there are jars of fruit juice on the tables, that are inclusive and on which you don't have to wait long. The food is with fish, meat (chicken), rice, beans and some side dish and desserts varied enough. The more that our stay will only be for three nights in the lodge. Two nights are common.
We like the pool in form of a turtle very much, around which there are a few sun beds. In case of all seats being taken, the second possibility is to lay down in one of the hammocks. However, the lodge is designed to make people venture. Thus, between the pier and the main building sets in a muddy walk into the jungle, you can walk on the beach to a lagoon and at the pier there are canoes and rowboats ready. If it rains, you're at least able to send home holiday greetings from the internet room, before you allow yourself a cocktail in the bar.
