Beach on the Pacific

Playa Sámara
Boat on the beach in Samara

Brown pelicans fly over the sea, rush with their jagged wings into the water. Little prawns disappear in front of our eyes in their holes in the sand. A little up the beach we see tracks of hermit crabs.
Two women, who are jogging in bikinis, pass us, soon followed by two men. Later, the heat will give all four a tough time. Early in the morning (7.50 am,) we start to our first promenade on the less frequented beach. Even the waves which broke the day before against the coast heavily seem to be still asleep.

Coconut palms on the beach in Samara
Trickle into the Pacific

Several rows of coconut palms provide the backdrop of the scenery. The palms were plant with the intention that it is possible to clamp hammocks between them. However, if you don’t want to be knocked out by a large fruit, you should always look upwards.
About 30 minutes after reaching the beach, we come to a creek. I consider if we should turn back. If we did, we would have to walk back the whole way. Since we have come so far, Annette want reach the end of the bay.

After further 15 minutes we achieve that goal.  On our way, we can follow a sandpiper. Then we reach the rocky end of the bay. Now we are close enough to the upstream island to swim towards it. Now it is time to turn back, which means that we have to walk back the whole way. Although, we just walked to one end of the bay, our first promenade lasted one and a half hours. What a beach!
