Scattered to the winds

Unfortunately, the dip in the Río Blanco is the least of our problems (no one wanted to jump into the pool anyway) as well as several fallen trees that cannot stop us on our way after the bridge over the Rio Blanco. āBecause these trees have already been there for a while, so that there is now a marked detour. Also no problem then is a very old tree stump, with a dark, hollow throat and covered with begonias.

At first it goes critical after the turning to crater of Rincón de la Vieja. In fact the way runs to the waterfalls through Quebrada Agria, which should lead only a little water in winter. But also he got really an impressive brook and it’s fallen a tree exactly in this place, where we had to cross through the brook. Because there isn’t a second suitable place, we throw stepping stones in and make do with a stick, to come fairly on the other side.

Agria in the flood ...
... and with fallen tree.

After this we chose the turning to the upper waterfall. How it shows unfortunately soon, it was a mistake. Although we can get the first meters over sheltered and fast, but then it goes on an open area and suddenly we stay in a wind, which paralyses our steps. But not enough: Raindrops blow over the slope. Above us you see no cloud, but also not an end of the shower. During we stay dry at the back at first, at the front the water beats us in face.
After we can relax a short time in a little forest, finely we stand in the middle of a storm.
On the soggy path and grass downhill we inevitably had to slip every now and then, the countless raindrops were like pinpricks until we were finally forced to break the tour up. Being wet through we subsequently had to realise, that the Quebrada Agria had risen 10 centimetres and our rocks lay underwater.
