As we follow the Pan-American, we reach the famous gas station junction in Liberia and five kilometres later we leave the road at a point where you can find a lot of street signs and go towards “Nationalpark Rincon de La Vieja”. As we have expected, we’re on a Dirtroad again. Nevertheless it is recommended that you speed up to 50 kilometres if you’re on a straight road. The effect is that the car flies over the holes and that makes it more comfortable. At that moment hopefully no cow- herd is crossing the street.
After we have followed this dirtroad for 12,8 kilometre, we pass a house with two floors. Unfortunately this building is hidden by a huge tree and so we miss the access to Casa Rural Aroma de Campo. Here you’re lucky with an all- wheel car because the last metres the road is really steep and uncomfortable.
In the hotel it doesn’t take two minutes till Annette is standing next to the cage of a parrot. Koki, the parrot, is sitting on her shoulder with his beak in her earring. But that’s exactly what I expected.
The first impression is really awesome. The “Casa de Campo” contains six comfortable rooms. On the porch you can relax in hammocks or on rocking chairs. The welcome is friendly and uncomplicated - we can take drinks out of the refrigerator and just have to write it down – and the dinner was delicious and rich!
It’s also very enjoyable that the leading staff is a Swabian and that we meet other German tourists. Although we do understand some English, it’s easier for us to talk to others without thinking hard about it.
It’s a pity that the next night there was a heavy storm over Rincon de la Vieja and the hotel. The consequences are a power and water failure for several hours and a huge number of overturned trees and fallen branches on the property and the driveway.
